We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated
Finance Officer
to join our busy team on a
fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave
. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role within a high-performing team and make a real impact on the day-to-day financial operations of the University of Law.
As a Finance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day activities of our Transactional Accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This role is ideal for someone with foundational finance experience who is eager to build their expertise within a supportive, professional environment.
As our Finance Officer, you will:
Process invoices, payments, expenses, and credit card claims.
Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate supplier records.
Produce invoices, payment plans, and apply payments correctly.
Monitor accounts and proactively follow up on overdue fees.
Resolve finance queries and provide clear credit control support.
Assist with reporting, forecasting, and general finance admin.
Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and suppliers.
We are looking for people who are/have:
Recent experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or a similar finance role.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to support and engage with students, suppliers, and colleagues.
Experience in cash posting and bank reconciliations.
A customer-focused approach
Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and experience working with finance systems.
A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude with strong teamwork and organisational skills.
This role will be based at our
Woking campus
and working on a
hybrid basis
