REF031 - Finance Systems Administrator

UWS is looking to recruit a Financial Systems Administrator to be responsible for the day-to-day operational maintenance of the Unit4 Business World financial system and other financial systems in use at University of the West of Scotland.

As a Finance System Administrator you will also be required to provide specialist advice across the University on financial systems and accounting matters as required.

This role will include:

  • Supporting an integrated systems service and, in particular, to manage the day-to-day administration of the system and associated routine tasks.
  • The post holder will also be involved in non-routine project work (e.g. system upgrades, ad hoc enhancements, etc.)
  • Managing access to the Finance Systems by setting up new users with appropriate access.
  • Closing user accounts for departing staff.
  • Monitoring \'Items to Follow Up\' on the Unit4 Business World financial system (i.e. those items that are stuck in workflow).
  • Assisting in the set-up of new Account and Project Codes.
  • Supporting users and resolving the ad hoc queries they raise.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the reports and reporting structures.
  • Assisting in reconciliation of interfaced data.
  • Loading data sets to the Financial system using data-load tools.
The successful candidate should have the following:
  • HND in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification and/or relevant work experience.
  • Experience of using complex information systems (e.g. data input, running reports, analysing outputs, investigating discrepancies, etc.)
  • Experience of using finance-based systems (e.g. accounting, payroll, banking , insurance)
  • Experience of supporting users in the use of information systems (e.g. resolving queries, providing training, compiling documentation, etc.)
