What does this team do?

Finance Transformation (FT)

is a set of offerings within the Technology and Transformation team, that assist finance executives with assessing their finance strategy. We help to design and implement change to their finance organisation, process and systems to improve the overall value of finance.



In

Controls Advisory,

we assist organisations in understanding the risks associated with their processes, which includes their manual processes, IT and assurance. This includes designing control frameworks, which means creating the overall system for managing risk and compliance and updating how controls are managed to increase effectiveness. We also use tech to help automate control processes, ensuring things can be done quickly and accurately.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You'll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.

What kind of work will I do?

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, your role will typically involve the design, implementation and assessment of business process controls for diverse clients across various industries. You will gain an understanding of best practices and emerging technologies like AI and apply this to enhance control frameworks. Engagements range from standalone projects to being part of a wider transformation project with teams across Deloitte. Key responsibilities include:

Risk Assessment:

Documenting the current state and identifying and assessing key risks

Control Design & Implementation:

Designing and embedding controls to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with internal policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements, including remediation

Monitoring:

testing the operational effectiveness of key controls and assessing the impact of any control deficiencies identified

Change Management & Risk Mitigation:

Delivering impactful change initiatives to enable effective risk management and foster a robust controls culture

Technological Advancement:

Focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as AI and blockchain

Stakeholder Communication:

Managing key risks and issues, proactively communicating with internal management and client stakeholders as needed.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

How will I develop?

Given Control Advisory's breadth of services, you will have opportunities to take part in a wide variety of work, finding new environments to grow and develop. Learning and development will also be delivered as part of a comprehensive training programme with dedicated sessions taking place at regular intervals, as well as independent training encouraged through our Learning portal.

The training may include (but is not limited to):

Controls Advisory competencies and knowledge (supplemented through project work) across a wide array of subjects, such as risk management, change transformation and assurance, and programme management You will be required to undertake the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA) Consulting business skills such as stakeholder management, effective communication, presentation, and business writing Financial support to get industry certifications relevant to your area of work.
