About the Role

Due to business growth we are creating an exciting new role to support our 3 retail locations. The post holder will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance across our business. As a Financial Accountant, you'll report to the Directors and support efficient financial operations and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Process and record supplier invoices promptly and accurately.

Prepare VAT returns and manage quarterly submissions.

Support the year-end accounts process (including audits and preparation of statutory accounts).

Reconcile ledgers, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules.

Handle VAT, PAYE, and other routine compliance requirements.

Work closely with the General Manager and Store Managers to support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.

Support improvements to financial controls, systems, and workflows.

Essential Criteria

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or currently working towards qualification.

A minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a similar role or Accountancy Practice

Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

Competent in IT i.e. Microsoft office, and in particular, extensive experience with Excel

Highly organised with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, etc.).

Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
