Aquarius Energy, an independent joint venture between Glencore and Tristar, is a global midstream oil and gas business with terminal assets and operations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. The group is managed out of offices in London (within the Glencore office) working closely with operating assets and driving growth in new markets.
Role
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our London finance team, reporting to the Group Reporting Manager. This permanent role will encompass broad exposure across accounting, treasury and reporting. Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements, management reporting, payments, audit management, financial compliance and tax filings. The role also involves interaction with and support towards shareholders as well as broader team involvement across risk management and sustainability.
The successful candidate will be part of a small, cross-functional finance team where collaboration and communication are essential. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to operate independently while engaging closely with management and finance teams within our global assets.
Responsibilities and Duties
Accounting for holding companies and supporting group reporting
Preparation of monthly management reports with insights and commentary.
Preparation of financial statements and management of audits for holding companies
Treasury functions, including invoice capture, KYC support, payment management, payroll, and travel expenses
ERP System (Netsuite) super user
Implement and enhance financial processes and controls.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting activities
Support sustainability reporting, including data aggregation, analysis, and trend identification
Maintaining a comprehensive financial calendar to track critical deadlines
Collation of information to support sustainability development and enterprise risk management
Provide project, M&A, systems, and ad-hoc support as needed
Experience & Skill sets
Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or relevant finance experience while pursuing these qualifications
Experience with NetSuite (strongly preferred)
Experience in IFRS financial statement preparation
Familiarity with consolidation processes and systems
Strong proficiency in advanced Excel
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Superior organisational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
