Job Description


This role is for a Lead Associate to work within the GB Finance Controllership team reporting to GB Finance Director based in Reigate. The role supports a global controllership function in the all aspects of financial control for GB based entities. This includes the production of Statutory Accounts, the annual audit of those accounts and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

A high level of interaction with other Finance colleagues in controllership and the wider finance community, including an outsourced partner, needing a self-motivated individual, with strong interpersonal skills.

The role is based in the WTW Reigate office, although there is flexibility with regards to remote working in line with the WTW Work Styles (including hybrid and remote working arrangements).

The Role

  • Working with other members of the controllership team, service providers, finance business partners and real estate managers to ensure the books of various GB companies are closed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review and approve journals for accuracy and compliance with company policies, questioning where appropriate.
  • Performing, approving and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Performing balance sheet and P&L reviews for one of the main UK trading entities and taking appropriate follow up actions
  • Assist in the preparation of and provision of audit information for statutory accounts for various UK companies with specific responsibility for one of the main UK trading agencies
  • Assist other members of the team to problem solve and implement new policies and procedures
Essential
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a corporate Finance team
  • Holds a recognised accounting qualification
  • High level of understanding of financial accounting and a controllership function
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet reporting deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a regional and global team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, with a proactive and positive approach to work.
  • Willingness to support senior members of the team and assist in both day to day tasks and project work.
  • Experienced Excel user with data analytic knowledge
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working with Oracle
  • Experience/Knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and audit
