The Opportunity: We are delighted to be currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join us at our Bristol Head Office. This is a permanent opportunity available at both full time and part time (from 30 hours to 37.5 hours per week). This opportunity also offers the benefits of flexible hybrid working, typically, this will require you to work from the Bristol office 1- 2 days per week with a choice of working from home or the office on the other days. This position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager, within the Financial Control team, and is responsible for producing management and statutory financial accounts, overseeing the day-to-day activity of the General Ledger, and managing the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s month end close process to ensure financial transactions comply with relevant accounting standards. The role has a wide-ranging variety of responsibilities due to the nature of being in a small team. Key responsibilities will require you to:
  • Ensure financial transactions comply with relevant account standards (IFRS) and the Triodos Bank accounting manual.
  • Ensure all controls and reconciliations around month end processes are performed, documented, and operating effectively.
  • Oversee the General Ledger including responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of monthly postings and appropriate account structure through review of work performed by other co-workers within the Financial Control team.
  • Own the preparation of Group Reporting deliverables (monthly balance sheet & P&L, variance analysis and other reports) to Head Office for consolidation.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis to provide commentary on periodic movements and performance against budget and reforecast, maintaining a close working relationship with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team
  • Prepare the financial statements and related notes for Triodos Bank UK\xe2\x80\x99s Annual Report & Accounts (AR&A) and assist in preparation of the front half.
  • Continually review Finance processes and controls to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department being responsible for piloting, embedding and reporting on changes.
  • Own cost control through reporting and business partnering with cost centre owners
  • Deputise for the Financial Reporting Manager on activities and projects to represent the Financial Control team locally and with Group.
  • Comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to help ensure ethical behaviour which delivers fair outcomes for TBUK customers.
What we are looking for: This role requires you to be a Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) with experience of working within a finance function in practice or industry with experience of working with relevant accounting standards, combined with experience in practice as an auditor or liaising with auditors in industry. You will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Excel and will be highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Experience within the Financial Services would be advantageous but not essential. An excellent communicator at all levels you will also be able to support and coach less experienced members of the team and also build excellent working relationships across different departments and teams at Triodos UK and colleagues at group head office in the Netherlands. Offer

In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a salary of between \xc2\xa340,000-\xc2\xa345,000 Full time equivalent salary depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory. Our benefits include:
