Job Description

Hutcheon Mearns is working with a global oil service company to hire a Financial Accountant on a full time, staff basis to join their team in Westhill.

The Opportunity

Situated within an established and sociable team, you will be responsible for:


Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required Provide explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements Demonstrate a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation and group accounting policies Support the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities Assist with the review of Associate Accountants' work Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions to establish best practice and process standardisation Resolve any financial reporting queries

Background and Experience

A qualified or nearly qualified accountant with audit and accounts preparation experience Experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process Self-motivated with a logical approach to problem solving Have a proven track record of good quality analysis and analytical review Experience within large multinational companies or large teams is advantageous
