Who are we looking for:-



A bright, intelligent accounts person who flourishes in a fast-moving, innovative business.

This is a brand new role, allowing our finance and operations manager to focus on the operations side of our fast-expanding business. Therefore, this is a pivotal role you can make your own.

Core Responsibilities



Recording all day-to-day financial transactions--including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments--in the general ledger. Managing both accounts payable and receivable: processing invoices, tracking payments, and supplier disbursements. Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoice or payment queries. Respond to supplier and customer accounts related enquiries. Compile and submit monthly payroll updates to the external payroll service Credit control management. Reconciling bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure accuracy Processing payroll for third-party provider, calculating deductions, tracking employee time, and ensuring compliance Preparing financial reports--balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow statements, management accounts under the direction of the finance and operations manager. Tax preparation and regulatory filings, including VAT, sales tax, or payroll taxes

Educational & Credential Requirements



Relevant university degree or Certifications ATT ICB, or similar accounting qualifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (AIPB, NACPB).

Technical Skills



Proficiency with accounting software: QuickBooks, Sage, Go Cardless or similar Strong command of Excel: data entry, formulas, pivot tables, and spreadsheet management. Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), double-entry bookkeeping, and financial controls.

Analytical & Professional Skills



High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation. Strong organisational and time-management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines Analytical problem-solving: identify variances or discrepancies and devise solutions. Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial and personal data. Clear written and verbal communication to liaise with colleagues, management, vendors, and clients.

Experience



4+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a medium-sized business setting recommended.

Optional Yet Valuable



Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and remote collaboration tools. Ongoing continuing professional education to stay current with financial regulations and best practices

Salary & Reporting Location



Reporting directly to the Finance and Operations manager.

32,000 to 36,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Based in 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Porstmouth .

Some hybrid working permitted
