Hours: Full time 37.5 hrs preferred, though will consider flexible working of 30+ hrs per week
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a temporary maternity cover (minimum 1 year). Reporting to the Director of Finance, the role oversees day-to-day charity finances and a team of five staff. The ideal candidate is a qualified CCAB accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred) with hands-on experience, particularly in charity and grant accounting, including deferred and restricted income.
Key requirements include:
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Access Dimensions and FocalPoint preferred)
Experience in managing all ledgers, including payroll
Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff
Experience in liaising with budget holders from across the organisation to set and monitor budgets
Good analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills
