Job Purpose
Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office
Salary: 70,000 - 90,000

Job Purpose: As a Financial Modeller, you will support the Senior Financial Modeller and the broader Banking & Investment team by delivering financial modelling capability and expertise. Your responsibilities will include conducting model reviews, developing robust financial models, embedding best practices and identifying process improvements.
You will work closely with the front office Banking & Investments team to support the execution of complex, bespoke transactions deploying debt, equity and guarantees. Additionally, you will provide modelling expertise to the wider NWF team, including Portfolio Management, by contributing to portfolio company valuations.
Core Responsibilities:Financial Model Review & Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of financial models supporting investment decisions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance model quality and integrity. Portfolio Company Valuations: Support the Portfolio Management team to conduct periodic valuations of direct equity investments. This includes updating complex models and producing clear and insightful outputs such as valuation bridges. Model Development & Enhancement: Build and adapt complex financial models to support investment decisions. Ensure models are robust, transparent, user-friendly, and aligned with industry best practices. Investment Analysis Support: Partner with the Banking & Investments team to evaluate investment opportunities through scenario, valuation and returns analysis. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Support the development of modelling capabilities across the team by delivering training, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Modelling Centre of Excellence: Contribute to the development of a centralised financial modelling function that supports the Fund's strategic objectives. Offer insights on how to scale modelling expertise across a growing organisation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Technical Expertise: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with advanced proficiency in financial modelling and Microsoft Excel. Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of accounting and tax rules to facilitate accurate modelling, including knowledge of integrated financial statements. Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a meticulous approach to financial analysis and modelling, ensuring precision and consistency. Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial information. Confident in coaching colleagues on financial modelling best practices. Relationship Building: Confident in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Professionalism & Resilience: A proactive work ethic and the ability to perform under pressure, supporting transaction and valuation teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
