We are looking for an ambitious Financial Planner to join our team. You will have a couple of years' industry experience, be on route to Chartered status (or hold a Level 4 Diploma and committed to progressing further), and have the drive to build trusted client relationships and deliver high-quality financial advice. What you'll do





Provide holistic financial planning and wealth management advice to a broad range of clients, in line with regulatory requirements and best practice Conduct in-depth fact finds and assess clients' current and future financial needs Develop tailored recommendations on investments, pensions, protection, and tax planning solutions Prepare and present comprehensive financial plans and suitability reports Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, delivering an exceptional service experience Maintain in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of financial products, legislation, and industry best practice Proactively manage your client portfolio and identify new business opportunities, including referrals and networking Work closely with paraplanners and administrators to ensure timely and accurate completion of client work Play an active role in the ongoing development of the practice, sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced colleagues Demonstrate commitment to personal development, working towards Chartered status with support from the business.


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need



Qualifications

Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent qualifications such as DipPFS / Cert CII (FP)) Working towards or aspiring to Chartered status (e.g., Chartered Financial Planner) is highly regarded

Experience

At least 3 years' experience as a practicing Financial Planner within a financial advisory practice (either independent or restricted) Proven track record of analysing clients' financial objectives and developing comprehensive lifetime planning strategies Confident conducting annual client reviews, both virtually and face-to-face

Technical Expertise

In-depth knowledge of all aspects of financial planning, including: + Tax-efficient investments
+ Pensions and retirement solutions
+ Protection and estate planning
(Please note: a mortgage advice licence is not required for this role)

Client Exposure

Demonstrated experience supporting a broad client base--individuals, families, business owners, corporates, charities, and professional intermediaries

Desirable Specialisms

Expertise in areas such as pensions, trusts, and long-term care Memberships or accreditations with professional bodies (e.g., STEP, SOLLA, Resolution) are advantageous

Skills & Attributes

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with high standards of literacy Strong awareness of compliance, legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements Proficient in digital technology, including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and compliance platforms.


The base





You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.



We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham's main line train station.
