Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with an independent engineering business based in Livingston. They have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join their finance department.

This role will operate on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysing operating and financial performance against target, identifying key variances and supporting corrective actions
  • Managing the management reporting process, assisting in collating information and updating templates for periodic reporting
  • Ensuring timely, reliable, transparent management information to the CEO, Executive team, Board of Directors and Shareholders
  • Provide support to Business Support Functions for monthly reporting of actuals vs budget spending
  • Perform business plan sensitivities analysis for credit metrics analysis, investment and financing decisions, and capital allocation purposes
  • Continuous improvement to policies and procedures for Reporting, Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting with the aim of enhancing standards and increasing the accuracy and efficiency of the Finance planning process
  • Providing support for the coordination of periodical business review meetings
  • Manage the spending authorization process and review budget change requests to ensure compliance with group policy on Delegation of Financial Authority, and monitor corporate operating expenses, G&A and capital expenditure against budgets
  • Provide support during the internal and external audit processes and in providing management responses
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis in a similar position/responsibility
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of planning and management reporting systems
  • Strong Excel ability (V-Look Up\xe2\x80\x99s, Pivot Tables, Sum-ifs, basic modelling)
Preferred:
  • Exposure to complex multi-business organisations
Skillset:
  • Superior analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to different cultures
  • Ability to build trust and effective personal relations both within the organization and with all relevant external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends/tendencies in financial planning and analysis and management reporting
Education and Qualifications

Essential:
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration related subjects
Desirable:
  • Professional qualification or studying toward CFA/CMA/CA/ACCA
