We are looking to employ a Financial Reporting Accountant ESG to work with us on a full time basis. This role will be based in London.

The Role

The ESG Financial Reporting Accountant will play a critical role in advancing our company\'s ESG initiatives and driving sustainable practices across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and reporting on our company\'s ESG performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and enhancing our ESG reporting framework. They will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including the MRSG ESG team, risk management, and exposure management, to strengthen our ESG disclosure practices and improve transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Establish ESG financial reporting processes adhering to regulations and frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SECR).
  • Prepare, audit, and review ESG financial statements, including sustainability disclosures.
  • Gather financial and non-financial data collaboratively for ESG reporting.
  • Advise on evolving ESG standards, implement policies, and ensure compliance.
  • Engage with auditors, regulators, and cross-functional teams for ESG audits.
  • Contribute to annual reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings.
  • Provide financial insights for ESG projects and sustainable practices.
  • Develop and track ESG metrics for sustainability goals.
  • Integrate ESG and financial reporting with ESG and Company Sustainability teams.
  • Support quarterly reporting obligations for the Company.
  • Support adhoc requests as required.
  • Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders
What we are looking for

We are keen to speak with candidates with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change through ESG practices. You will have In-depth knowledge of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and regulations, including TCFD, SECR, EU Taxonomy, IAE and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).

Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyse financial and non-financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, including emerging ESG reporting standards and practices.
Qualifications
  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
  • University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification
