Role Overview
This role is within the Financial Reporting team which is responsible for the main statutory and financial reporting obligations for all the legal entities within the EMEA region. This role will support the delivery of statutory reporting requirements as well as involve in various Finance related projects and initiatives. This is a hands-on finance role, suited to a self-starter with strong communication, organisational and analytical skills. Being able to work efficiently whilst ensuring a quality and controlled delivery of information is paramount. The role will interact heavily with the other key areas of the Finance function.
Role ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and delivery of annual financial statements for EMEA controlled entities.
Compile accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. IFRS and UK GAAP).
Assist with year end and interim audits including communication with external auditors.
Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies for financial reporting and disclosures.
Implement and monitor controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy and prevent mis-statements, and support process improvements across the wider Finance team.
Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and apply them appropriately.
Build strong working relationships across wider Finance team including Tax, Treasury and the Company Secretarial team.
Experience / Competencies
EssentialPart qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA or equivalent).
Understanding of financial statement preparation process from a preparation or audit perspective.
Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and deliver on time.
Proactive, resilient, and results-driven, taking ownership and responsibility for outcomes.
Analytical and curious, capable of identifying issues, collaborating with peers to investigate and recommend solutions, and implement improvements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience in navigating various accounting systems for efficient data management and reporting.
DesiredNewly qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA or equivalent).
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and local GAAP.
Direct experience in financial statement preparation
Experience of working in or with financial services businesses regulated by the FCA.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, Onestream) and advanced Excel skills.
