The Role





In line with continuous growth, we have recently formed a Financial Reporting Team.



To support our Head of Financial Reporting with this new offering we are now recruiting for a Financial Reporting Advisory Manager to join the team in either Leeds, Manchester, Carlisle or Newcastle.



The main elements of this role will include:

Providing financial reporting advice to clients on complex accounting issues, transitioning to new accounting standards and / or different accounting frameworks and the financial reporting implications of business decisions, including (but not limited to) new revenue streams, acquisitions and restructuring Drafting and reviewing technical accounting papers for clients and liaising with their auditors where necessary, to resolve accounting issues Providing technical accounting training to clients, delivering workshops and seminars / webinars Working collaboratively with other AW Service Lines to ensure holistic support is provided to clients, by ensuring the financial reporting implications of advice being given is considered, understood and addressed Providing financial reporting support and training internally, to colleagues in other AW Service Lines Researching, interpreting and monitoring changes in accounting standards, including UK GAAP and IFRS, and preparing internal and external thought leadership articles on relevant topics Coaching and providing managerial support to more junior members of the team and supporting them with their own professional development Managing project budgets and negotiating fees with clients where necessary

The Candidate





In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:

A Full UK Driving Licence Either ICAS, ACA or ACCA qualified Strong knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS Experience of working in a professional services firm and providing financial reporting advice to clients Ambitious, and keen to drive the team forward Comfortable working in a fast paced environment A dedicated team player, and willing to assist colleagues in the team where possible Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure Able to use initiative and have great organisation / problem solving skills An interest in business development and supporting the growth of the Financial Reporting Team. This includes identifying and taking forward new opportunities, preparing quotes and proposal documents, and negotiating fees with clients
