The Finance function plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency across our global teams, and we have a new opportunity to join the team as a Financial Systems Analyst. This role will support the needs of a fast-growing firm that is investing in technology to deliver improved internal and external client experience.

Key Responsibilities


The Financial Systems Analyst will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day function of the firm's finance systems and will provide assistance to delivering a set of ongoing improvement programmes. The position sits within the Finance team and will report into the Head of Financial Systems, encompassing user support, finance systems operational support, application support, project work, development and testing, change control and documentation.



Additional responsibilities include:





Act as an administrator for Aderant Expert, eBilling Hub and BillFiler, ensuring the systems available meet business needs Supporting in the management, maintenance and technical ownership of all practice management systems, their SQL environment and their related customisations and integrations to help ensure they meet business needs Identify opportunities for system enhancements and work with teams to analyse, develop, test and implement changes Provide support service responding to queries from fee earners, secretaries, HR, BD and finance staff Assist with the evaluation of upgrades, patches and fixes Assist with the delivery of Finance and IT projects Keep finance systems up to date as well as running regular systems routines such as month/year end processing Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability Analyse workflows to develop efficient procedures and processes for all stakeholders. Assist application managers in translating business requirements into technical solutions Document processes, procedures and policies as specified by the firm's management and auditors Work with 3rd party support providers and IT to seek resolution to logged issues Create ad-hoc reports for business applications Create and execute T-SQL scripts and stored procedures Provide support for current Financial Systems projects and review existing working practices with a view to streamlining and improving processes Any other duties assigned by the Head of Financial Systems from time to time






Skills Knowledge and Expertise


We are seeking a confident, proactive, and solutions oriented individual with 5 years + experience working with accounting systems, ideally within a law firm or other professional services environment.



You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the business, demonstrating confidence in your own judgement.



Additional competencies include:


Experience of working with SQL/SSRS is essential as well as the ability to run queries unsupervised and a willingness to upskill on the job through internal and external training Ability to source data in response to ad-hoc data requests either via standard PMS reports or running SQL queries where required Prior experience using Aderant Expert would be desirable Able to demonstrate high levels of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality Excellent attention to detail - a high level of accuracy is essential Team player - flexible and willing to take on extra responsibilities to support departmental or firm objectives
