Job Summary
We are expanding our Manufacturing team and are recruiting an individual to support our Engineering Machining facility based in Hitchin.
Our business produces small, machined components made from engineering plastics, we serve a global customer base in the fields of Aerospace, Medical, Electronics, Valves and general Engineering sectors, our customers demand the highest levels of quality and to meet these exacting standards we are an AS9100 registered business.
Responsibilities
Working with a selection of machines and technologies that facilitate surface finish improving and Burr removal from machined components.
Parts cleaning and sorting to remove swarf.
Using small handheld cutting instruments to individually trim and de-burr parts.
Maintaining good housekeeping standards.
Conducting visual appearance inspection checks to batches of machined parts to identify and remove any faulty items.
Assisting with parts counting.
Using our computer systems for basic activities to log work in and out of each stage of process controls.
Requirements
No experience with our specific machines or the parts we make is required as full training will be provided.
This role may suit an individual who has experience and skills from a wide range of industries and services and is not limited to candidates from an engineering background, However, the
Artisan skills a candidate should possess are:
Good manual dexterity.
Reasonable eyesight.
A keen eye for detail along with a steady hand.
Personal qualities for the candidate will be:
Reliable, willing to learn, possessing the ability to apply themselves to processes that are sometimes repetitive, have a sense of personal responsibility, and the ability to share the responsibilities of working within a busy team environment.
You will be a member of a small team within the worlds largest Plastics machining business, but we also encourage and expect people to be able to work on their own initiative.
We offer full support for training and understand that our specialist sector of the market requires us to provide familiarity with our processes and customer requirements.
