Finishing Supervisor

Job Description

The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations across Production & Print. Ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are consistently achieved. The role drives team performance, supports continuous improvement activities, and maintains high operational standards in line with company policies and industry best practices.



Main Responsibilities




Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)


Lead and implement Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) initiatives to strengthen safe working practices and support a zero-incident culture. Ensure full compliance with SHE standards, procedures and regulatory requirements. Promote a proactive safety mindset through visible leadership and employee engagement.

Operational Leadership


Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to achieve output targets while maintaining optimal quality and efficiency. Maintain high-quality standards throughout all manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements. Manage Shop Order execution and maintain full accuracy and control within IFS (or equivalent ERP system). Monitor process compliance and evaluate performance using defined metrics (KPIs).

People Management & Communication


Lead, motivate and develop multi-skilled production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Communicate team performance, operational priorities and action plans clearly across all levels of the production organisation. Provide timely reporting and escalate operational issues to relevant departments to ensure swift resolution. Demonstrate strong leadership behaviours, setting high standards aligned with company values.

Continuous Improvement


Work closely with the Production Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, efficiency and waste reduction. Support and contribute to Lean, CI or operational excellence activities, ensuring improvements are sustained and measurable. Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Administration & Compliance


Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all required administration, documentation and data entry across business systems. Ensure compliance with internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and audit requirements. Perform additional duties flexibly as required to support operational needs.



Qualifications/ experience




Experience in injection moulding production (IMD), tooling and screen printing processes and related technology would be an advantage. Strong leadership capabilities and a record of significantly improving individual and team performance and enhancing team culture. A capability for balancing conflicting demands and making timely decisions on information available. Deliver significant manufacturing performance and organisational improvement using relevant techniques e.g. 5S, that allows targets to be continuously stretched. * An IOSH, or similar, qualification with relevant experience managing safety within manufacturing.
