Our FinOps function drives financial accountability of cloud consumption at Deutsche Bank, providing distributed teams with insights into their consumption, spend and optimization / control options to ensure cloud usage is managed efficiently.


We are seeking an individual who has a real passion for technology and Cloud, with a strong technical background in Cloud Platforms, Cloud billing, Cloud FinOps and associated tooling and infrastructure cost optimization. You should also have a track record of excellent problem-solving skills.


As the FinOps Cloud Solution Architect, you will be responsible for driving cloud financial management strategies and ensuring cost-efficient cloud operations. You will act as an SME within our FinOps team for cloud optimisation initiatives, cost-efficient architecture and billing. You will also be responsible for the bank's FinOps Tooling strategy and engineering work. This role will require collaboration with broad range of external functions including platform engineering, Finance and business teams.

Your key responsibilities



Act as our SME for cost-efficient architecture across multiple cloud providers (Azure, GCP) SME in billing and cost optimization initiatives of infrastructure services hosted on public / private cloud and on-premise Analysis of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) billing data, usage data from Asset Inventory and Monitoring utilization data to assess application teams GCP consumption, identify wasteful spend and provide actionable insights to optimize spend Lead FinOps Tooling strategy, architecture, engineering and integrations Provide best practices for financial governance whilst maintaining operational efficiency and promoting adoption of FinOps best practices, policies and guidelines across the bank Partner with broad range of stakeholders including Finance, Platform Engineering, Product Owners and Business teams to ensure efficient technology spend in line with business goals

Your skills and experience



Infrastructure & Cloud technology industry experience with proficiency in GCP infrastructure and GCP services Proven experience in designing target architecture, implementing, managing and using cloud financial management tools (e.g. Looker, Cloudability, CloudHealth) SME in Cloud billing, cost-efficient architecture and cloud cost optimization Proficient in Terraform, GitHub Workflows, Python (4+ Years) and data analysis tools e.g. Excel, SQL etc Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change, strong analytical and problem-solving skills FinOps Certified Practitioner or higher and Cloud Certifications
