Working Hours:

8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 2.00pm Friday (37hrs per week). On call rota required with additional allowance.

Job description:

Due to growth, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire and Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV systems, and access control systems for commercial and residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, commission, service, and maintain a variety of fire and security systems including: Fire alarm systems (e.g., addressable and conventional) Intruder alarms CCTV systems (IP and analogue) Access control systems Perform system fault-finding and diagnostics. Conduct regular maintenance and testing to ensure system functionality and compliance. Provide detailed and accurate documentation on all works completed. Adhere to health and safety regulations and industry standards. Deliver excellent customer service while liaising with clients on-site. Participate in a call-out rota for emergency breakdowns. Stay up to date with industry trends and technical advancements.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar role within the fire and security industry (electrical professionals may be considered). Industry recognised qualifications. Knowledge of current fire and security regulations e.g., BS5839, BS5266, SSAIB, BAFE standards. Clean personal record as PSNI and vetting checks required. Full UK driving license. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

Experience with a variety of systems/manufacturers (e.g., Scantronic, Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton, etc.) Knowledge of IP networking related to CCTV and access control. Experience working in both commercial and domestic environments. CSCS card or equivalent. FIA certification or relevant industry training (preferred).
