Job Description

We're looking for a Fire Door Engineer to join our team at one of the most iconic shopping centres in Europe.

You'll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and installation of fire-rated doors and firestopping systems, helping to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.



Working as part of a small, multi-skilled building services team, you'll also provide general maintenance support.

You'll be guided by the on-site Technical Services Manager and have access to training and development plans designed to help you grow your career.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct visual inspections, repairs, and installation of fire doors and frames in line with relevant standards on the Westfield contract Perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring work (including quoted projects) is completed to an acceptable standard Support emergency call-outs and assist with resolving maintenance issues raised by retailers or site management Liaise with and oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with site standards and direction from the TSM/KAM Maintain accurate records, manage stock appropriately, and ensure maintenance areas and equipment are kept clean and safe Use site systems, including Building Management and Planned Maintenance platforms, and carry a site radio at all times Provide flexible shift cover (day/night) when required and assist with caretaker duties, refurb inspections, and staff training

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications



Proven experience working with fire doors in a commercial or retail environment Sound understanding of BM Trada standards and fire door compliance NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry and Joinery is essential Additional NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in Passive Fire Protection are highly desirable FIA (Fire Industry Association) certifications are an advantage Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and best practice standards Ability to assess, maintain, and install fire doors to regulatory requirements
