Job Overview:
As a Fire Door Installer & Maintainer at Fyre Solutions Ltd, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire doors in commercial, residential, and industrial properties. You will ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, including BS 8214 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, while maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fire Door Installation
Install fire doors, frames, and associated components in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and industry standards.
Ensure all fire doors are fitted correctly to maintain fire resistance and compliance.
Work from technical drawings and specifications to deliver high-quality installations.
2. Fire Door Maintenance & Repairs
Conduct routine inspections of existing fire doors to assess their condition and performance.
Identify defects, wear, and non-compliance issues, recommending corrective action where necessary.
Carry out maintenance, repairs, and remedial works to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
3. Fire Door Inspections & Compliance
Perform fire door surveys and inspections in accordance with industry standards, including:
BS 8214 (Code of Practice for Fire Door Assemblies)
BM TRADA Q-Mark certification guidelines.
Produce detailed inspection reports, highlighting defects and recommended actions.
Ensure that all work meets the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and remedial work carried out.
Use digital platforms or manual systems to document work and ensure compliance.
Provide clients with comprehensive reports detailing findings and corrective actions.
5. Health & Safety Compliance
Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including safe use of tools and equipment.
Follow site-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
6. Client Communication & Support
Liaise with clients, site managers, and compliance teams to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
Provide expert advice and guidance on fire door maintenance and compliance requirements.
Address any client queries or concerns promptly and professionally.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Fire Door Installer & Maintainer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of fire door installation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and compliance documentation.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including:
BS 8214 (Fire Door Assemblies)
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
FIRAS, BM TRADA, or LPCB guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications & Certifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fire Door Installation or Carpentry (preferred).
BM TRADA Q-Mark, FIRAS, or LPCB Certification (highly desirable but not essential).
Valid CSCS card (required).
Full UK driving licence (essential).
