Summary

We are seeking a Professional and detail-orientated Fire Door Surveyor to carry out on-site inspections of Fire Doors across commercial properties. The role ensures compliance with all current fire safety standards and regulatory requirements, helping clients maintain legal and safety obligations.

Responsibilities

Attend commercial properties and active sites to inspect and survey existing and newly installed fire doors. Assess fire doors against relevant regulations, including BS 476, BS EN 1634 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Identify defects, wear or non-compliance in doors, frames, seals, hardware and signage. Prepare clear, detailed reports including photographic evidence and recommendations for remedial actions. Communicate findings with Clients and Internal Teams, offering technical guidance when needed. Stay current with all legislation, standards and best practices related to Fire Door safety and compliance. Represent the Company professionally on-site and comply with all Health & Safety requirements.

Requirements

Experience in Fire Door surveying, fire safety compliance, carpentry or building surveying. Familiarity with UK fire safety legislation and Fire Door installation standards. High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident using digital reporting tools and mobile technology (tablet-based apps, software etc). Ability to work independently and travel to various locations as required. FDIS, BM Trada Q-Mark, or similar Fire Door inspections certification preferred. Full UK driving licence required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

Minimum number of surveys completed per week/month. Accuracy and completeness of survey reports (measured through internal QA checks). Client satisfaction rating / feedback score. Timeliness of reporting (e.g. Submission of survey reports within 24-48 hrs). Compliance rate on re-inspection (post-remedial). Adherence to Company Health & Safety protocols on site.
