The role

As a Fire Fighter you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. Ensuring the provision of operational airfield crash/fire rescue services to support the flying task.

Day to day,

  • Ensure the provision of operational airfield crash/fire rescue services to support the flying task.
  • You will be completing relevant mandatory training to ensure you are mentally and physically fit enough to complete any challenges that may occur.
  • Maintaining and operating fire service equipment and vehicles you will assist the Crew Managers to ensure that you and the fire crew are ready to respond to any aircraft emergency during the days flying programme.
  • Further opportunities to develop into a Crew Manager role may be available.
  • There will be some general duties as required, including (but not limited to), driving, administration, housekeeping and other responsibilities as allocated by the Fire Station Manager.
Essential experience of the Fire Fighter
  • Current or recent experience in Military or Civil Fire Service
  • DFR approved basic firefighter course certificate
  • Breathing Apparatus Wearer Certificate
  • IT skills MS office, word excel.
  • Experience of support to military or civilian flying operations
  • LGV C Class 2 Driving Licence.
This role is based full time at RAF Woodvale, however the Company may, on occasion, ask you to deploy to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve a Baseline security clearance level for this role.
