Role
The Fire Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons, staff, and performers at O2 Academy Brixton by overseeing fire prevention and emergency response procedures.
This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and being prepared to act swiftly in emergency situations during live events and operations.

Our Fire Officer is part of a large team of contractors working at our prestigious and internationally renowned South London venue, one of the most prestigious and iconic venues in the city, and where our shows and events are as diverse as the individuals within it. What We Need
Proven experience in fire safety, emergency response, or a similar role.
Certification in fire safety/fire warden training or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge of local fire codes and health and safety regulations.
Strong decision-making skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible availability, especially during nights, weekends, and holidays.
Able to respond quickly to emergencies.
What you'll be doing
Monitor the venue during events to ensure all fire safety protocols are followed.
Conduct regular inspections of fire exits, emergency lighting, alarm systems, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems.
Ensure all fire exits are accessible and not obstructed.
Carry out the fire evacuation plans and emergency procedures.
Liaise with local fire services and ensure venue compliance with current fire codes and safety legislation.
Maintain detailed record of pre-show venue checks.
Respond swiftly and appropriately to any fire alarms, emergencies, or evacuations.
Review and approve event setups for fire safety compliance (e.g., pyrotechnics and stage set up).
Patrol all areas of the venue including but not limited to all fire stairwells and restricted spaces during inspections and emergencies.
Attend annual fire warden training provided by the company.
