to be the Property fire safety expert for The Salvation Army, providing advice to colleagues and senior leaders, incorporating any updates in law into the fire safety strategy, policies and systems and advising colleagues.
Oversee quality assurance of specialist fire safety contractors delivering fire risk assessments, surveys and servicing works to fire safety systems, which will include undertaking pre and post inspection of works to ensure high levels of quality control.
Create and maintain a fire safety strategy for the organisation, which would include:
Auditing the organisation's fire safety management system and making recommendations to ensure that the system is adequate including:
Drafting a new Fire Safety Policy for the organisation Reviewing fire safety procedures
Review existing risk assessment methodology for fire risk assessments, ensuring the quality of service provided by contractors by setting up a quality specification for FRAs, reporting, proportionate remedial works, and extrapolating data to develop a central register of FRA actions. Collate and report MI on compliance with actions from FRAS to the Safe Mission Council and the Risk Management Committee.

Extensive experience of working successfully in a similar fire safety management role, with expert level knowledge and experience in strategic fire safety in domestic dwellings, multi-occupied sleeping premises, commercial/operational buildings such as office premises, churches, shops and community centres and construction, monitoring and risk mitigation.
BSc/NVQ Level 6 Fire Safety Management or equivalent, and professional membership with an accredited organisation such as the Institute of Fire Engineers or Fire Safety Managers
Extensive experience of working successfully with senior management and working with, liaising and representing organisations, providing verbal, written technical reports/advice on fire safety matters, and leading and overseeing formal responses relating to external enforcement authority visits and contact.
Experience of maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards such as ISO 45001
A full UK driving licence (or valid equivalent) and the willingness and ability to travel throughout the Territory
