Fire Safety Officer
and play a key role in keeping our tenants, colleagues, and properties safe.
About the Role
As Fire Safety Officer, youll be responsible for ensuring fire safety compliance across a diverse range of properties, from sheltered housing to offices and development sites. Youll lead on fire risk assessments, policy development, training, and emergency planning, acting as the organisations competent person for fire safety.
Youll play a vital role in embedding a culture of fire safety awareness among tenants, employees, and key stakeholders, acting as a fire safety champion to support and empower others in identifying, reducing, and mitigating fire risks across our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a strong fire safety culture by engaging and supporting tenants, staff, and stakeholders to identify and reduce fire risks
Oversee and review fire risk assessments and inspections
Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures
Conduct fire drills and training for staff and tenants
Liaise with contractors, local authorities, and emergency services
Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and best practice
Provide reports and updates to senior management and the board
What Were Looking For
Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety (or higher)
Proven experience in fire safety, ideally in social housing
Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and risk management
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
A Basic DBS check will be required for this post - employer funded
