Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in various domestic settings. This role requires a strong understanding of system design, electrical and mechanical components, and construction practices. The ideal applicant will have experience working with schematics, CAD software, and hand and power tools to ensure the safety and compliance of fire suppression systems.

Duties



Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with safety standards, current Bs Standards and regulations. Read and interpret technical schematics, drawings, and CAD designs to accurately execute installations. Conduct system design modifications or upgrades as required, ensuring optimal functionality. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble and install piping, valves, and sprinkler heads. Troubleshoot system issues using electrical knowledge and mechanical expertise to diagnose faults effectively. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of fire suppression systems. Perform routine inspections to identify potential hazards or system deficiencies and rectify them promptly. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and system modifications for compliance purposes.

Skills



Strong knowledge of system design principles for fire sprinkler installations. Proficiency in CAD software for creating or modifying technical drawings. Mechanical knowledge related to piping, valves, fittings, and sprinkler heads. Experience working with schematics to interpret complex system layouts. Competence with hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws). Electrical experience relevant to wiring sensors or control panels within fire suppression systems. Familiarity with processes and safety protocols on-site. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently under pressure.
