The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations, maintain high standards of installation, and lead a team of fire stopping operatives. This role is crucial to the safety, quality, and legal compliance of our construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and oversee all fire stopping activities on site.
Ensure all fire stopping works comply with current fire regulations
Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors, and third-party inspectors to coordinate fire stopping works, install and remedials.
Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and quality checks on completed works.
Compile and send quotations to clients
Maintain detailed records of works, certifications, and materials used.
Manage a team of fire stopping operatives and subcontractors, ensuring training and competency.
Ensure the use of approved and certified fire stopping products.
Keep up to date with relevant legislation, industry trends, and best practices.
Report progress and issues to senior management regularly.
Ensure projects are closed down with completed, satisfactory paperwork
Key Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a fire stopping or passive fire protection role, ideally in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, products, and installation techniques.
FIRAS, BM Trada, or equivalent accreditation preferred.
CSCS card (managerial level preferred).
SMSTS or SSSTS certification desirable but not essential.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and reporting abilities.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Supply chain of contractors is advantageous
Fluent in the use of reporting programs such as One Trace / Bolster or the like as well as Microsoft Excel
Qualifications:
Relevant construction or fire protection qualification (NVQ Level 2 or higher in Passive Fire Protection preferred).
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
