First team Medical Department/ Football Education Programme

Role Summary:
A split role working within the club's First Team Medical Department for three days per week, and the Northampton Town FC Community Trust's Football & Education Programme two days per week.
Be responsible for the provision of physiotherapy and first aid services. Delivering excellent care and meeting all medical needs of the players, across the First Team and Academy following guidance from the Head of Medical.
Be the lead therapist for players within the Football & Education Programme, providing pitch based medical cover and support services.
:
First Team:

• Provide support for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for the first team and U23's.
• Support the Head of Medical in the provision of all medical requirements on a day to day basis.
• Provide pitch side medical cover for training sessions.
• Attend games both at Sixfields and away as part of the medical team providing medical cover.
• Support with medical screenings and physical testing of players.
• To ensure appropriate soft tissue and manual therapy interventions are carried out to a high standard for all first team players.
• To ensure that appropriate and comprehensive medical notes are completed in line with CSP/HCPC/ GDPR standards.
• To be part of the off-season medical rota for the professional playing squad to ensure continuity of treatment.
• To assist the academy medical staff and players as required.
• At all times follow the management protocols and guidance of the Head of Medical.

Football & Education Programme:

• Lead therapist role for the Football Education programme.
• Attend games both at home and away to provide medical cover.
• Provide injury assessment and advise coaching staff as required.
• Design rehabilitation programmes for players.
• Assist in the recruitment of interns to assist the department and provide management and support.

General:

• To comply with all aspects of the Club's "Code of Conduct".
• To ensure all CPD requirements are met in accordance with role and ongoing personal CPD.
• At all times carry out the responsibilities with due regard to the Club values and policies, including but not limited to; Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Essential:

• BSc/MSc Physiotherapy/ Sports Therapy/ Sports Rehabillitation
• Valid CSP and HCPC or Sports Therapy Association/ BASRAT membership.
• FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management Qualification (ATMMiF).
• FA Safeguarding Qualification.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team.
• To work flexible hours as the role requires - including evenings, weekends, public holidays.
• A commitment to continuing professional development.
• Previous experience working in an elite sports environment.

Desirable:

• Therapist experience within an elite professional football/sports environment.
• Hold a full driving license.
• Sports massage qualification.
