A well respected Fishmonger and Deli is URGENTLY seeking a skilled Fishmonger to join our team, responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality fish products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and culinary practices, ensuring that all products meet our high standards for freshness and quality. This role requires a passion for seafood and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display a variety of fish and seafood products, ensuring they are presented attractively to customers. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout all processes. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs. Perform fishmongery tasks as required, including filleting, skinning, and portioning fish. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food production. Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management, ensuring that all products are fresh and available. Keep the work area clean and organised, following best practices for food preparation and production.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within the culinary or food production industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Experience in fishmongery is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment. Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. A passion for seafood and culinary arts, with a willingness to learn new techniques. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
