Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and fitting components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of engineering drawings, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

The shift hours are: Mon-Wed 13.30-24.00; Thurs 13.30-23.00 (39 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately. Use a variety of hand tools and machinery to fit parts together, ensuring precision and quality in every task. Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions promptly. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Assist in the training of new staff members as required, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Experience

Previous experience as a Fitter or in a similar role is essential. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics is required. Familiarity with various fitting techniques and tools is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A background in mechanical engineering or related fields would be beneficial but not mandatory.
