The assembly of pumps with either an electric motor or diesel pump.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Build bare shaft pumps to engineering drawings.
Assemble diesel and electric skid sets to engineering drawings and bill of material listing.
Raise any assembly issues with QA engineer and supervisor.
Fill in production data books with project critical information requested.
Complete check sheets.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules as detailed in risk assessments and COSHH sheets.
Decision Making
Pump and assemblies correctly assembled.
Communication & Contacts
Communication of assembly and fitment issues as appropriate, e.g. with immediate supervisor, QA engineer, and design engineer.
Communication with planner e.g. ref material availability issues, planned schedule, etc.
Communication with vendors.
Communication with peer group e.g. when working on a project build together / across shifts.
Communication with test e.g. that a pump is ready for test on the well. Communication with supervisor ref HSE concerns, near misses, etc.
People Management
Part of a team, contributes to a collaborative and supportive team environment through personal behaviour.
Financial Responsibility
Correct and timely completion of time sheets.
Takes care of project material to avoid damage.
Takes care of tools to avoid damage and loss.
Qualifications & Experience
Desirable
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ3 or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
Or minimum of 5 years fitting experience.
Read engineering drawings.
Personal Qualities
Self-motivated, collaborative with a positive "can-do" attitude.
Logical and structured.
Working Conditions
Shop Floor based, occasionally required to attend office based meetings and team communications.
The wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Possibility of shift working.
Possibility of travel/foreign travel to customer sites, or SPP facilities.
