Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Flat Roofing Professional specialising in Waterproof Membrane installation and maintenance. This role involves working on various roofing projects, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and durability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction practices, roofing techniques, and the use of specialised tools and materials. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in roofing, carpentry, masonry, or related trades to contribute to high-profile projects within the construction industry.

The candidate must hold a current driving license and be based in or around Carlisle to join one of our current teams.

The job will involve travel with most weeks being spent out of town. (Allowance included).

This role will be a 3 month temporary contract , turning to permanent for the right candidate.

Duties

Install, repair, and maintain flat roofing systems using waterproof membrane materials. Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate application of roofing systems. Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently. Conduct surface preparation including cleaning, sealing, and surface repairs prior to membrane application. Perform heavy lifting of materials such as membranes, insulation boards, and other roofing components. utilise carpentry skills for framing or support structures where necessary. Execute plumbing or masonry tasks related to drainage systems or structural supports as required. Fabricate custom components or adapt materials to fit specific project needs. Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.

Qualifications

Proven experience in flat roofing installation or waterproof membrane work is highly desirable. Knowledge of schematics, construction drawings, and technical specifications. Proficiency with welding techniques and the use of power tools and hand tools. Background in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general building work. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods. Strong understanding of roofing materials, fabrication processes, and waterproofing methods. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in executing complex tasks accurately. Physical fitness suitable for working at heights and performing strenuous activities regularly. Relevant certifications or training in roofing or construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory.
