Are you organised, safety-conscious, and looking for a varied role? We're looking for a Fleet and Safety Officer to help manage our company vans and keep our workplaces safe. You'll be helping with everything from vehicle checks to making sure we follow health and safety rules at our sites, workshops and offices.
What the role involves:
Completing health & safety paperwork and forms (PQQs and CHAS).
Carrying out regular checks at work and on vehicles to spot and fix any safety risks.
Looking into any accidents or near misses and making sure we take the right steps to stop them happening again.
Arranging training for staff to help them understand and follow safety rules.
Making sure company vans are road-legal, insured, and replaced when needed.
Organising regular servicing and repairs to keep vans in good working order.
Keeping an eye on how vans are being used--like fuel use, driving habits, and repair costs.
Keeping records up to date, such as fuel card details, driver checks, fines, and vehicle trackers.
Making sure all safety documents for vans and driving (like risk assessments and method statements) are accurate and up to date.
What we're looking for:
Experience in a health and safety role (an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is a bonus).
Experience helping manage vehicles or a fleet of vans.
A basic understanding of health and safety and vehicle laws.
Good communication skills and confidence speaking with different teams.
Well-organised and able to solve problems.
Confident using Microsoft Office and online systems.
You'll need to be in the office each day for this role, but we're happy to consider part-time hours
