is a dynamic and customer-focused provider of specialist transport services to the Airfreight Industry. Operating from three key sites at Heathrow, our head office is based in Colnbrook, where we house a large, modern fleet of vehicles.
We are currently seeking an experienced
Fleet & Compliance Manager
to join our fantastic team of professionals on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key role within the business, responsible for
managing a fleet of 100+ vehicles and trailers
, and
leading a team of 7 people
-- including an Assistant Transport Manager, Workshop Manager, on-site HGV and Vehicles Technicians and a HGV Apprentice Technician. You will not be required to be involved in the day to day Operations, you are free to focus on the vehicles and drivers.
Key Responsibilities
O Licence Management
Act as the named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence
Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and drivers operate in full compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Manage O Licence documentation and oversee all amendments and updates
Team & Driver Management
Manage driver operations in line with tachograph regulations and working time directives
Investigate driver infringements, complaints, and accidents, implementing retraining as needed
Provide weekly reporting on driver behaviour, vehicle performance, and incident outcomes
Liaise with the Insurance department regarding accidents and claims
Compliance & Auditing
Conduct regular internal audits and maintain up-to-date compliance processes
Continuously evaluate and improve procedures to ensure full legal compliance
Fleet Maintenance
Oversee scheduled maintenance and repairs of 100+ vehicles and trailers
Work closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure timely, efficient maintenance
Ensure all maintenance is planned to avoid operational disruption
Planning & Budgeting
Plan and coordinate vehicle maintenance to support uninterrupted operations
Monitor workshop availability and manage ad hoc repair needs
Maintain and control budgets for fleet maintenance, repairs, and equipment
Manage supplier contracts and liaise with the Finance Team regarding expenditure
Breakdowns & Emergency Repairs
Coordinate breakdown recovery and repairs, including managing out-of-hours call-outs
Flexibility
A flexible approach to working hours is essential to meet the demands of this role
Requirements & Qualifications
CPC in Transport Management
(essential)
HGV Licence (Class 1 preferred)
Strong working knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
Minimum
5 years' experience
in a similar or Transport Manager role
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Physically fit and able to remain calm and professional under pressure
