Fleet Contract Delivery Manager

As the Fleet Contract Delivery Manager you will take the reins of our day-to-day fleet operation, ensuring it meets the highest standards of safety and service. This is your opportunity to make a real impact in a role that sits at the heart of our Engineering & Infrastructure team.

What you'll be doing:

Lead Fleet Delivery:

Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the Avanti West Coast fleet, ensuring value for money through effective contract management with Rolling Stock Owning Companies (ROSCos), manufacturers, and maintainers.

Drive Supplier Performance:

Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers (Hitachi, Alstom, ROSCos) to ensure consistent, high-quality fleet performance.

Ensure Safety & Compliance:

Guarantee that all fleet operations meet safety standards and regulatory requirements, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Inspire and Guide Teams:

Provide strategic leadership to the Fleet Contract Delivery Team and Production Managers, ensuring they are equipped to meet business needs.

Shape Future Strategy:

Contribute to long-term fleet planning, including integration with ETCS and HS2, while supporting cross-functional collaboration, budget management, and stakeholder reporting.

What We're Looking For:

Rail Industry Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of UK rail passenger operations and rolling stock engineering, including depot environments and industry standards.

Leadership & Communication:

Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills to influence suppliers and drive performance.

Collaborative Mindset:

Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex supplier relationships effectively.

Professional Qualifications:

Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience).
