in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Flexographic Printer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic print machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring all production orders meet quality, colour, and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating flexographic printing presses within a packaging production environment
Carrying out press changeovers and achieving run speeds in line with KPIs
Monitoring print quality and colour consistency throughout production
Troubleshooting faults and resolving non-conformities
Completing all production and quality documentation accurately
Working closely with Production and QA teams to support smooth, efficient runs
Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work area
Minimising waste during print runs
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles such as
5S
and
SMED
Ensuring compliance with
BRC, ISO, and FSC
standards
What We're Looking For
You will be quality-focused, reliable, and detail-driven, with a strong background in flexographic printing within a packaging environment.
Essential:
Proven experience operating flexographic printing presses
Experience with
wide web presses
and
water-based inks
Plate mounting experience
Strong manufacturing background within
packaging
Good level of literacy and numeracy
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
4-5 years' flexographic printing experience
Experience on
Fischer & Krecke 16S
or
Schiavi CI
presses
Print qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3)
Exposure to
Lean Six Sigma
or other continuous improvement techniques
Candidates from other print backgrounds with the right attitude and willingness to learn flexo will be considered.
