FLIGHT SUPPORT OFFICER (ZERO HOURS)

Saxon Air is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in aviation, who can work well in a team but also individually using their own initiative, to join the Flight Support Services function on an ad-hoc basis.

We are a private jet and helicopter operator based at Norwich Airport in our purpose-built Business Aviation Centre and hangar facility, designed specifically to be multi-functional, to meet the demands when serving the offshore transportation sector as well as offering excellence when meeting the needs of our private air travellers via our VIP suite. We have a team of valued staff, passionate about delivering a superior service aimed at exceeding our customers' expectations.

This is a fast-paced job that is different every day! One minute you could be doing offshore check-ins, the next greeting a VIP passenger from their private flight, during all hours.

THE ROLE & CANDIDATE

We are looking for a good communicator and team-player, flexible enough to meet the demands of our flight support function that may need you at short notice. This role will require some early starts and late finishes so having the means to commute and living within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility is necessary. Training will be given.

Specifics of the job involve:

To provide check in assistance for the offshore area Provide baggage, freight handling for both offshore and VIP areas of Flight support Ensure Dangerous goods are correctly managed and loaded in accordance with IATA dangerous goods regulations Carry out passenger searches if required subject to appropriate training being completed Assist in handling of delays and passenger management for the off-shore operation Maintain accurate data capture for the offshore operation on a shift by shift basis Provided VIP handling for the fixed wing and off-shore operation Process handling request in a timely manner, ensuring good customer service at all times Answer phones, to customers and colleagues in a timely manner Liaise with UKBA and Special branch regarding inbound flights and passenger clearances Ensure Invoices are processed correctly, by means of credit card, cash and account payments Provide aircraft handling for fixed wing operation, which includes aircraft towing, marshalling, basic services, catering supplies & toilet servicing or any other related activities as reasonably required Liaise with third party service providers to provide ad hoc services, ensuring that a smooth service is delivered at all times to our customers. Actively promote additional services, i.e. fuel sales, hangarage etc. Assist with health and Safety requirements, by helping to promote a safe working environment Assist with Adverse weather conditions, ensuring both airside and landside operations are safe, i.e. snow clearing, gritting etc Any other duties deemed reasonable by Flight Support Management
The best candidate will have:

A keen interest or previous experience working in aviation A UK driving license would be beneficial for commuting on early or late shifts An analytical mindset, with the ability to solve or be involved in solving operational problems Great communication skills, written and verbal Good computer literacy Great attention to detail Resilience and resourcefulness Self-motivation and team spirit Diplomacy, with excellent interpersonal skills Good co-ordination skills Enthusiastic and outgoing Able to support business priorities and needs Disciplined and focused

Fundamentals

This is a zero-hour contract, based in Norwich at the Klyne Business Aviation Centre.

Our current pay is aligned with the Real Living Wage.

You must have an existing and ongoing right to work in the UK under current Immigration rules to be considered for this role.
