The Floor Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant or hospitality environment. This position involves overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary experience, along with excellent leadership and team management skills.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen and service staff to ensure efficient operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of food production.
Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed, demonstrating culinary skills to guide team members.
Train new staff on proper food handling techniques, service standards, and kitchen procedures.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance among staff.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism to ensure guest satisfaction.
Collaborate with management to develop menus and implement new recipes or service styles.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations.
Previous experience in hospitality, including roles such as barista or hotel staff, is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and team collaboration.
