This Facilities Management role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of essential services that support the entire Hinkley Point C construction site. As Service Manager, you'll oversee a wide range of critical functions including catering, accommodation, cleaning, waste management, and other site-wide support services.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
This is your chance to take ownership of a vital area of the HPC construction site, where you'll lead the planning and delivery of essential support services. Reporting to the Construction Support Services Manager, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of your assigned area, from strategy to execution, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll be the go-to expert, providing technical insight and leadership to keep the project on track and aligned with its ambitious goals.
You will be required to be on site at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater site.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead the delivery of critical site services that support a workforce of around 12,000 people, ensuring operations run seamlessly across a complex and high-profile construction environment. With a team of EDF staff and embedded contractors reporting to you, you'll oversee service contracts valued up to xc2xa3150 million, ensuring they meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Your role will involve managing area operations, enabling cross-functional collaboration, and making key decisions that align with the wider project strategy. You'll act with delegated authority on major contracts, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure services are delivered on time and within budget.
From defining scopes of work to resolving delivery challenges, you'll be instrumental in driving performance, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring compliance. Your leadership will help shape the success of one of the UK's most important energy projects.
Who You Are
You bring a degree-level education or equivalent senior management experience in a related industrial setting, with a strong background in managing large-scale work packages, ideally up to xc2xa3250 million. Your experience in high-security, high-hazard environments such as construction sites or industrial plants has equipped you with the resilience and foresight to lead in complex settings.
You've led multi-disciplinary teams and delivered results in large project environments. Your ability to think long-term, develop strategies, and adapt to challenges sets you apart. You're a confident communicator, skilled in stakeholder engagement, and you thrive on collaboration and innovation.
If you hold a recognised behavioural safety certification or IOSH accreditation, that's a bonus, but what matters most is your commitment to learning, your track record of delivery, and your drive to make a meaningful impact.
