Role Overview:
You'll play a vital role in the day to day running of the pub. You'll lead by example on the floor, ensuring smooth service, supporting the front of house team, and taking responsibility for opening and closing the venue when management isn't present.
This is a hands on role for someone passionate about hospitality, confident under pressure, and ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a senior team member during service, ensuring high standards of guest experience and smooth operations across bar and floor.
Open and close the venue securely
Lead the team when senior management isn't present, running shifts seamlessly and confidently.
Handle guest feedback, queries, and complaints professionally and effectively.
Support with cash handling
Uphold and enforce health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing standards at all times.
Help train new team members and foster a positive, motivated workplace culture.
Ensure cleanliness, presentation, and atmosphere of the pub reflect The White Swan's high standards.
Assist with stock control and deliveries when required
About You:
Essential:
Previous experience in a hospitality supervisor, team leader, or senior bartender role.
Trustworthy, responsible and reliable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, hands on approach with strong organisational skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy periods.
Desirable (training will be provided for the right candidate):
Experience as a keyholder or duty manager in a pub, bar, or restaurant.
Knowledge of cellar management and cask ale.
First aid, food hygiene, or health & safety training.
