Job Description

The Renaissance Club, host venue of the Genesis Scottish Open, is currently recruiting for Full Time and Part Time positions in our Bar & Restaurant. We are looking for staff with exceptional customer service skills who can provide memorable experience for our members and their guests. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided. Due to the nature of business weekend and evening work will be required. And in return we offer competitive rates of pay, discount on merchandise and food & beverage items, access to our golf course, plus other staff incentives.

The Renaissance club is located on the Archerfield Estate, just outside Dirleton.

As this position includes bar work, we ask that applicants have reached the age of 18.

Looking for immediate start, as well as summer staff.

Job Overview:

Greet members and guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Serves all members in a proper and efficient manner, using names as much as possible and making sure they have an overwhelmingly positive experience while dining in the Clubhouse. Executes the proper billing procedures to ensure accurate billing of member and guest services. Assists in the setup and break down of all areas needed for food and beverage service on a daily basis in and around the Clubhouse.

Key Responsibilities:

Greets all members and their guests as they arrive with a friendly and warm demeaner, using their name. (Remembering the names of members, as well as the names of their children, is a very important part of the member experience) Ensures that food and drink orders are accurately written down and input into the POS system, using correct member name and number, to ensure accurate billing during each shift. Ensures all chits and hand-written tickets match before entering into the POS system; adds needed detail to all chits to ensure an appropriate backup is available for the accounting team. Able to efficiently serve food and drinks in a courteous manner, offering suggestions on things such as daily specials, deserts, and wine and beverages, as appropriate. Communicates any food allergies or questions a table may have about the cuisine to the kitchen to ensure a safe and healthy dining experience for the members and guests. Keeps a close eye on ticket times to ensure timely service is provided Responsible for clearing dishes from tables, as necessary, always making sure the table is kept tidy and service is performed to proper standards Responsible for making sure that workspaces are kept clean and organized at all times, including all shared team areas. Assists with reset of tables that may be necessary for food and drink service.
