We are a welcoming 3-star hotel located in the heart of Ullapool, offering a warm and friendly environment for both guests and staff. With a focus on excellent customer service and a relaxed atmosphere, we are looking for a dedicated Food Beverage Assistant to join our team.





Key Responsibilities:


Greet and serve guests in the restaurant, bar, and lounge areas Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times Assist with setting up and clearing down for service Handle guest queries and complaints professionally Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service Support with stock rotation and replenishment




Requirements:


Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

About Us

Built in the early 1900s, the 83-bedroom Caledonian Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the area. It still boasts a quiet, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and pleasant gardens.



The Hotel overlooks Ullapool's working harbour and the colourful fishing boats on Loch Broom. To the right of the hotel is the Fowler Memorial Clock - said to be the most photographed clock in the Highlands. It was first erected in 1899 in memory of Sir John Arthur Fowler (1817-1898) and his family who lived at Braemore House near Corrieshalloch Gorge. However, to help reduce traffic congestion, it was moved to its new home in West Argyle Street in the 1960s.
