Job Overview

The Food Service Associate plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This position involves a combination of food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

There is availability for breakfast, lunch and evening shifts, or a combination.

Duties

Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, maintaining high hygiene standards in the kitchen. Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and organisation. Provide excellent guest services by taking orders, answering questions, and addressing any customer concerns. Upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery. Maintain inventory of food supplies and assist with stock rotation. Perform basic maths calculations for portioning and pricing as needed.

Skills

Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment. Excellent guest services skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour. Experience in food preparation within a restaurant or culinary setting is advantageous. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer satisfaction. Familiarity with hospitality principles and practices. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and portioning food accurately. A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area.
