Hours:

Average of 30 hours a week. This role is an annualised hour, fixed term position, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however, your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the length of your contract. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business.


You'll be required to work weekends, school holidays and bank holidays. Our trading hours are 10:00-17:30 (reduced in the winter/darker months), 7 days a week. Shifts will fall between the hours of 8am - 6pm (with occasional evening events throughout the year).

Salary:

12.25 per hour.

Duration:

Fixed Term Contract until 2 November 2025

What it's like to work here:We're looking for a Food & Beverage Team Member to join the team at the Aira Force Tea Room. Forming part of the visitor attraction of the stunning Aira Force Waterfall and Gowbarrow Park, Aira plays host to awe inspiring vistas, amazing wildlife and resident red squirrels.


In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out. Your shifts will either be in our busy tearoom or on our pop up ice cream stand.

What you'll be doing:As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the cafe. With your love of working with people, your 'can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.



You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.



We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
