The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us.


We're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.


This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you'd get here for work, before applying for the job. The site can be accessed by bus and we are able to make reasonable adjustments to rotas to fit with bus timetables when needed.

Hours:

This role is an hourly paid, fixed term position. Due to the fluctuating number of visitors at this site we are looking for candidates with flexibility in when they can take shifts throughout the summer, although we do try to offer a set routine where possible. The role will include weekends and Bank Holidays, however, there are no evenings or split shifts.

Salary:

12.25 per hour.

What you'll be doing:As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the cafe and ice cream parlour. With your love of working with people, your 'can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.


You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food or washing up.


We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
