About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable
Food Counter Assistant
to join our team at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new food counter launch, serving students and staff during the busy lunchtime period.
Key Responsibilities
Serve customers in a professional and friendly manner, providing excellent front of house service
Handle cash and card transactions accurately
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation at the food counter
Ensure compliance with food safety management systems and keep accurate training records
Manage stock, assist with deliveries, and support daily operations
Proactively promote and upsell products to maximise sales and commission
Drive where required for supply runs and logistics support
Requirements
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
(essential)
Allergen Training Certificate
(essential)
Experience with
Food Safety Management Systems
and record keeping
Prior experience in
front of house sales and customer service
Must hold a
valid driving licence
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
