We are currently seeking a Driver to join our team and play a key role in our operational success. This role will ensure the timely and safe delivery of baked goods, cafe supplies, roasted coffee, and occasionally staff, between Jampot locations and to customers and wholesale clients. As we continue to grow, this position is vital in upholding our service standards and ensuring the freshness and integrity of all delivered items.
Key Accountabilities/Main Responsibilities:
Deliver freshly baked goods, pastries, and cafe supplies from the central kitchen to Jampot locations or vice versa.
Transport roasted coffee from our warehouse production area to customers, cafe branches, and wholesale clients, ensuring product integrity and timely service.
Occasionally provide safe and courteous transportation for staff members between work locations as needed.
Ensure proper loading, unloading, and handling of all items, maintaining quality and freshness during transit.
Follow a predefined delivery schedule and adapt quickly to changes as directed by the operations team.
Maintain the cleanliness, fueling, and basic maintenance of the company vehicle.
Comply with all relevant UK road safety laws, food hygiene regulations, and internal safety protocols.
Accurately record deliveries and report issues such as delays, damaged goods, or vehicle concerns.
Communicate clearly and professionally with kitchen staff, warehouse teams, cafe managers, and the central operations team.
Start delivery shifts at or around 2:00 AM for coffee runs, followed by pastry deliveries later in the morning.
Flexible working hours, including early mornings and post-midnight shifts, based on operational requirements.
Maintain security of delivery keys and adhere to protocols for accessing client premises during off-hours or unattended deliveries.
Record and verify delivery access protocols (e.g., keyholder instructions, safe drop zones) per customer profile.
Support data collection on delivery performance and timing through GPS or route-tracking systems (e.g., stop count, timing, van health).
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Valid UK Driving License (Category B) with a clean driving record.
Strong knowledge of UK road laws and safe driving practices.
Familiarity with Central London road networks and traffic patterns.
Experience in delivery driving, food logistics, or staff transportation.
Ability to handle food and beverage products with attention to hygiene and care standards.
Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Basic knowledge of vehicle upkeep (fueling, cleanliness, minor checks).
Professional and courteous communication skills, especially when dealing with internal teams and external clients
Willingness and ability to work midnight to early morning shifts (starting as early as 2:00 AM).
Strong situational awareness and discretion when delivering to unattended or secure premises.
Comfort working in low-traffic, time-sensitive delivery windows, especially during early morning hours.
Desired:
Experience in transporting perishable goods or working within the food and beverage sector.
Experience in a hospitality or customer service environment.
Familiarity with warehouse operations or cafe logistics.
Familiarity with route optimization tools and GPS-based delivery performance tracking.
Experience with keyholder deliveries or managing secure drop-offs in hospitality or office environments.
